Our ambition

Echoes Project is an association working in collaboration with UNESCO to build bridges between local and Indigenous knowledge and global challenges related to climate, biodiversity, and cultural transmission.

The association supports local & Indigenous peoples in gaining mastery of communication tools so they can make their knowledge visible and directly testify to the impacts of climate change.

3 objectives

Raising public awareness through exhibitions in partner museums, events, and public spaces

School exchange program starting September 2026 + creation of a photography grant in 2029

Recommendations, statements, and testimonies formulated by Indigenous peoples for international institutions

Recommendations, statements, and testimonies formulated by Indigenous peoples for international institutions

In practical terms, at UNESCO sites managed by indigenous peoples who have chosen to join the project, the aim is to provide them with cameras and train them in their use, while collecting data to feed into an online atlas. The images produced will then be used in travelling exhibitions, presented at major international conferences and in cultural and educational venues around the world. In conjunction with these exhibitions, recommendations and motions will be formulated by indigenous peoples for international institutions (UNESCO, UN, etc.). Finally, an educational exchange programme between indigenous and European classes is planned for the start of the 2026 academic year, as well as the creation of a photography grant in 2029 to support the emergence of locally based indigenous reporters.
